Michigan UFO Contact

September 25–26, 2026
Lakeside Resort & Conference Center
Houghton Lake, Michigan

What an unforgettable weekend in Michigan! Carlene Harris joined Andrea Perron for Michigan UFO Contact, sharing stories, laughter, hugs, and memories surrounding Being Perronormal: A Memoir of Roger Albert Perron.

One of the most meaningful moments of the weekend was Carlene joining Andrea onstage to talk about Roger, his extraordinary life, and the journey behind the book. Surrounded by old friends, new friends, and so many people who shared their own stories and connections, it was a beautiful reminder that Roger's story continues to bring people together.

Our heartfelt thanks to Deb DeRousse and Arjay for creating such a wonderful event and for their extraordinary generosity and hospitality throughout our Michigan adventure.

An unforgettable weekend of friendship, fascinating conversations, and shared experiences. Carlene joined Andrea onstage to celebrate Roger's life and Being Perronormal, surrounded by old friends, new friends, and a wonderful community brought together by curiosity, connection, and the unexplained.

Rusty and his Stuffed Fox

Rusty is a male Red Fox with a beautiful Red Marble color morph. After being picked up on the mean streets of Kalkaska, Michigan, he now enjoys the good life—chicken jerky, plenty of attention, and time with his enclosure mates, Dakota and Roo.

Friendly, food-motivated, and full of personality, Rusty clearly knows when life is good!

Roger would have loved Rusty! I can just picture the two of them playing together—with Rusty’s stuffed fox close by.

Ghost is Hiding and Disco is Waiting to Dance!

Ghost is a male Red Fox with a Leucistic color morph. He was surrendered as a pet when permits and space became limited. Known for his adorable underbite and strong bond with his trainer, Ghost has become quite the fan favorite.

Disco is a male Red Fox with a Pearl Cross color morph. Friendly and clever, he can sit and even “present paw.” Together with his enclosure mates Ghost and Crimson, they’re affectionately known as “The Boys”—and these boys are big fans of chicken jerky!

Dakota Loves Homemade Treats!

Dakota is a female Red Fox with a beautiful Dakota Gold color morph. She was found approaching people for food at a wildlife refuge, where volunteers and local law enforcement worked together to bring her to safety.

Today, Dakota is thriving with patient care, plenty of enrichment, and a menu fit for a fox! She loves venison, chicken jerky, and sardines—and, as we discovered during our visit, homemade treats are pretty wonderful too!

Friendly and curious, Dakota was quite comfortable coming close for a special treat, giving us one of our favorite moments of the day.

Roger Was Part of the Journey

This trip to Michigan had been planned for a long time, and Roger was supposed to be there with us. Although we made the journey without him physically by our side, there were moments throughout the weekend when he felt very close.

Most touching of all, several people, at different times and independently of one another, told us they sensed or saw Roger standing behind Andrea while she was onstage. For those of us who knew how much this trip meant to him, their words were deeply moving.

We went to Michigan to celebrate Roger's life, share his stories, and introduce Being Perronormal to old and new friends. In our hearts, Roger made the trip with us after all.
